You’ve got to be cruel to be kind, a phrase often said but rarely ever right in its conviction. This couple were cruel to each other with no intention of being kind. The toxicity of the relationship kept surfacing even during the sweeter moments, this was not the perfect picture that was in the frames placed around the happy home.

The doors opened to let us into the private arguments saved for when no others are in vicinity, what was witnessed was awful. The darker side to being with someone who uses manipulative and controlling behaviour against you is that at whatever the cost you accept it in desperation, or, it turns you into them, you become just as bad and it’s alright because, well you’re in love.

Though decorated with love, the pillow had more than this pair. This is not another love story, they were together but they were better off apart.
