Set in a world that might not be too far in the future we are presented with the idea that the sun has gone out and the water is rising. The human race has been forced to incarcerate all the woman to stop them breeding and then guarded by immoral and sadistic men

This is a very bleak look at what our future has in store and raises way more questions than it answers and maybe that is why I came out feeling a little unsatisfied.

That said the gang of women we were presented with had some great characters in it and I did care what happened to them, especially when subjected to the brutality of a particular guard.

The piece was booked ended by a tender love story beautifully portrayed though a semi danced prologue and epilogue between a man and a woman who couldn’t bear to be parted and wanted to face the future together whatever it was.

All in all a interesting play that feels so relevant to the dramatic changes that are to come in our own environment!
